June 2010: News
A Slight Change In Heart - June 8, 2010
Gary has begun his June 2010 with 95% new songs, and minimal classics. Progressive rock bands like Pink Floyd, Genesis, Chroma Key, and Camel have dominated his music. But something changed after the concert on Tuesday night. Perhaps he has had a change of heart. "I enjoy that kind of music, and I am very interested in it, and I am very happy about the success of them in June 2010, but that music isn't a part of concerts' upbringing. It isn't the classics," Gary said. Perhaps the change of heart was spurred by the fabulous job the performer across the room has done so far this June. Andy has played his own concert all-stars from the years (mainly the middle years of 2006-2008), and it has been such a successful operation, that a song like Coldplay's "Easy To Please", so innocent and so wonderful on the ears, made Gary really think about what he was doing, and where to go from here. "You know, when I heard that song, it really hit home. And I looked around the basement and realized that I need to join the party, and join in on the all-stars. I need to get onto the same page right now. Now is the time for that. Not later, not in July, not in August. Now is the time to play classics, before it is too late." Gary says he thinks he will really get back into the Progressive rock music after concerts are "over". "You know, much of that stuff is good Fall and Winter music, and I fully envision myself getting into that music on my own time during those months," Gary said. But he admits that perhaps this progressive run in June has gone a little too far, and that it is time to get back to what was going on in May, with playing classic material. The next concert from here is undetermined. Perhaps there will be a chance on Sunday, but more than likely, the next concert will be on Monday, June 14th. It is hard to imagine that it will be mid-June the next time the performers take the floor for a concert...July is fast approaching. But let tonight's concert be a valuable lesson in what should be going on in the basement right now---and that's two performers, and two brothers, that need to be on the same page. The classics, need to be there...
